~Wendy Ekfoogenakoi 18.Dec.03 03:53 PM a Web browser Notes ClientAll ReleasesAll Platforms
Hello all,
I did a search first and found no help. Can anyone answer me if the following can be done:
I use the archive feature of Lotus Notes to help keep email from building up on the mail server. Several people in the office have archives on their local machines.
I want to make backups of these archives by copying them over the LAN to a 120GB hard disk. I've tried to do this by using the replication feature of Notes. As a test, I've set up my computer to replicate the archive to drive letter 'K', which is mapped to the 120GB drive on another machine. The machine that contains the 120GB drive DOES NOT run domino. It's just a plain, entry-level (Dell Precision) server.
When I perform a replication, it works absolutely perfectly--the first time. It won't replicate more than once. On subsequent attempts, my Notes client (ver 6) tells me that it's unable to find a path to the server.
Can anyone shed some light on why it works once but not more than that? Do I NEED to be replicating with a Domino server? I'm confused, and I'm a Notes novice.
